What It Means - A trademark is a word, phrase, symbol, design, or combination of these things used to identify the source of the goods or services provided by a business. The value and importance of a registered trademark is that only owner of a trademark can use it for goods or services provided by him. The trademark registration is valid for 10 years and can be renewed at the time of its expiry.
Trademark Class – The trademarks are classified under 45 classes which means that there are different classes for different products and services. Class 1-34 pertain to goods such as food, garments, furniture etc. and Class 35-45 pertain to services such as accountancy, event management, interior designing etc. You have the right only on a particular class in which your trademark is registered.
